Maple Ambrosia isn’t your everyday Maple wood look as it is not a specific species of Maple but rather the look of what happens with Ambrosia Beetles bore into the host tree and a fungus starts to attack the tree which discolors the wood. There is a specific look that comes with the Fungus in these strange dark arch patterns that in some ways look like the grain of the tree, yet the grain goes completely different directions. This is a deckbox that would be perfect for a POX build, or Infect, or even something with sporelings. It is an excitingly hard wood without weight too much.
Even though the wood is rare being that it has to get attacked by a fungus, it is not listed on the CITES appendices or the IUCN threated species lists which is good news. Availability for custom Maple Ambrosia boxes is going to be highly up to vendor availability.
